About Jeff.

Who am I? What does it mean for you?

Jeff Atkinson

I utilize an integrative method, which means that I customize my approach based on what the particular situation calls for. The factors I use to develop my approach include your goals, the issue at hand, your inherence strengths and weaknesses, and a host of other considerations. I then draw from therapeutic interventions that are most efficacious, but primarily rely on a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psycho-dynamic therapy (PDT).

This allows me to address a wide variety of issues such as:

  • Fear

  • Relational conflict

  • Identity issues

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Marital conflict/challenges

  • Parenting issues

  • ADD/ADHD

  • Addictions

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

I focus primarily on developing or bolstering a strong sense of identity by working through past hurts and mal-adaptations, reorienting self-perspective around truth, and re-establishing inherent value.   I love working with people because of their challenges, not in spite of them.

Ten years experience.

Ten years of counseling experience has taught me a lot; most importantly, it has taught me how amazing, complex, and unique people are. I have grown in my ability to appreciate the uniqueness of each person I work with.

Passionate about you.

I love to walk alongside people in their time of need. My passion is to be a companion and a guide to people; my passion is to be a guide and companion to you. Iā€™m happy you are here and I hope to see you soon.

Individual and family counseling.

Life is messy, and I am licensed and trained to help with the mess with individuals, couples, and families.
